United States
across continents and through diverse artistic realms. Emigrating to the United States in 1955 with her family—her father, mother, and brother—Simone’s early life was marked by significant challenges. Her father’s death from cancer in 1962 left her and her mother to navigate life together as a single-parent household. Despite her early love for art, Simone’s passion was not initially encouraged in her academic environment. She pursued a degree in Spanish Literature and Language at university, a choice that would later lead to a prestigious Fellowship for her Master’s studies in Mexico. This period was instrumental in shaping her global perspective and appreciation for cultural diversity. Upon returning to the United States, Simone met and married her husband, with whom she raised two beautiful children. During this time, she channeled her creative energy into a successful career in decorative art. For 20 years, she ran a flourishing business specializing in murals, Venetian plaster, and other decorative techniques. Her work graced private homes and estates in Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Italy, collaborating with renowned designers. In 2019, a transformative experience began when Simone started taking workshops and classes online and at community colleges. This period of exploration reignited her artistic passion and led her to Abstract Expressionism—a genre she had long admired. Influenced by the works of Willem de Kooning and other Post-WWII American artists, Simone embraced the challenge of creating large-scale, non-objective art. Today, Simone Krug stands as a professional abstract expressionist artist, celebrated for her vibrant, dynamic canvases. Her journey reflects a profound evolution from her early beginnings to becoming a significant voice in the world of contemporary art.
